Stress is something we all face daily, and it often stands in the way of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. When the pressure builds up, many of us reach for quick fixes like alcohol, sugary snacks, or other vices for temporary relief. But while these may seem like easy escapes, they actually add to our stress and lead to deeper health problems over time.
For most of my teenage years, twenties, and mid-thirties, I was trapped in a cycle of drinking alcohol and living a lifestyle that became detrimental to my health. I felt drained, unmotivated, and unaware that I was using these behaviours to numb deep emotional wounds from my past.
It wasn’t until I decided to take control of my health that I was able to disconnect from the desire and habits of my lifestyle choices.
At 35, I went back to school, received an education in health and wellness, and began to find a purpose and meaning in my life that I could inspire and share with others.
