Tofu Raspberry Chocolate Mouse
I absolutely love this recipe, especially since I’ve struggled with food addiction throughout my life.
During my childhood, I strongly desired to consume junk food such as fried snacks and sugary treats.
I didn’t know it then, but it gave me a quick dopamine fix due to chemical reactions in the brain.
Dopamine is a feel-good hormone that creates feelings of pleasure and well-being and is highly connected to food addiction.
“A food addiction is characterized by an uncontrollable desire to consume foods high in sugar, fat, and salt, which is highly connected to binge and emotional eating.”
Due to processed and ultra-processed foods and using cheap ingredients, the rate of diseases and obesity has increased substantially in the last few decades.
You may not have control over what food companies add to their products, but you do have control over whether or not you buy them.
By reclaiming your power and learning how to cook at home, you can take a meaningful step toward removing addictive, processed foods from your diet and nourishing your body with wholesome, intentional meals.
